Side Scoop Insight

It is no surprise that as AI moves further into everyday life, the conversation around values and fulfilment becomes more urgent.

Vanity metrics only hold up if there is a real community engaging and being built in the background.

Some of the most successful businesses in the world are the smallest and most ordinary. That local bakery run from a kitchen, the dog walker, the print on demand press on nail business.

They work because they provide genuine value to the people around them.

As you venture into the side hustle world, it is important to remember what sets the good ones apart. Consistency, community and high value.

A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY

LinkedIn Copywriter / Ghostwriter

Being within the marketing industry, LinkedIn is packed with dissections of campaigns and emerging trends. As the platform has grown, so has the impact of influential voices on it.

And after I spotted Jamie Laing being criticised for not sounding like himself at all, I realised, that’s because it’s probably not him writing it. (Snoop Dogg perhaps, may be the only exception to that).

So what is it?

LinkedIn ghost writing.

Personal profiles on LinkedIn average 8× more engagement than official company pages.

Because CEOs, venture capitalists, and public figures rarely have 5 to 10 hours a week to write posts and manage engagement, they hire ghostwriters to build their authority, attract talent, and drive inbound deals.

This is a strong recurring retainer opportunity. You write and format posts for people who are simply too busy.

LinkedIn still delivers real value to high profile and influential figures and ghostwriting remains an underutilised way in.

Here are the steps to get started:

Step 1: Define a niche
Pick one industry, one type of client and one problem you solve. The more specific, the easier it is to position yourself.

Step 2: Set up your profile as a landing page
Your LinkedIn profile should make it immediately clear what you offer and who you help.

Step 3: Master value first outreach
Lead with something useful, a rewrite of one of their posts, a content idea, a genuine observation.

Step 4: Build a weekly client extraction system
Set aside 30 minutes each week to identify, research and reach out to potential clients consistently.

TRIED AND TESTED

Making Money Work

Source: FE FundInfo, correct as at April 2025.

We talk about passive income and through my research, the only current low entry passive income model is: Investing.

Investment is absolutely outpacing inflation. But what does that actually mean?

Well, every time we put our money in the bank, the interest rate determines how much our money works for us. Over time that 1 to 4% can make an impact, but only if inflation is moving slower than the interest rate. For most countries, that is not the case.

The UK and USA both sit around a 3% inflation rate per year, whilst a standard UK bank regularly offers around 1 to 2% interest.

Let us take a look at the S&P 500.

The S&P features the top 500 companies globally. Historically, the S&P 500 averages roughly 10% annualised returns over 20 year stretches. My money would theoretically be working more for me by sitting in the S&P over a natwest account.

Making money work for you is rarely about skills. It is almost always a knowledge gap.

By upgrading you can unlock the framework I have used to achieve an 80% return on every investment, holding for a minimum of 12 to 15 months. It is not complicated. It is just not talked about freely.

For £5 a month you get:

  • A weekly newsletter, two editions of which are exclusive deep dives where we go beyond the surface to find the opportunity

  • Access to the full investment analysis framework

  • A side hustle research download sheet (coming soon)

That is less than a cup of coffee. And unlike the coffee, it compounds.
